If your starting out a company like electrical what amount would you need to start it roughly?

My project is for college and is based in the north east england. It is a small company that wants to stay in that area until it has been running for a few years and has built up its resources. I got most of the information i need off the internet and i know money to start business like this vairy but can someone out there HELP
